Clark County Fire & Rescue Fire Commissioner Linn Dollar, known by everyone he met as “Penny”, passed away on March 30, 2009.

Penny was a Fire Commissioner for Clark County Fire District 11 for 47 years and served another year as Commissioner for Clark County Fire & Rescue, the consolidation of Clark County Fire Districts 11 and 12. He was reelected in 2007 to serve on the Board of Fire Commissioners through 2013.

He served as the Washington Fire Commissioners’ Association Sergeant at Arms, as the Fire District 11 representative of the Clark County Fire Rescue Risk Management Group and was a member of the District 11 Pension and Relief Board. Penny was a local businessman and a community fixture in the Dollars Corner area. Penny remained active in the community through his final days, donating hours and resources to various projects such as the annual Dollars Corner Easter Egg Hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, son Brian, and daughter Virginia.
