Clark County Fire & Rescue is currently accepting Volunteer Firefighter applications for the next Volunteer Recruit Academy. Volunteers work closely with career personnel to protect the lives and property of the citizens we serve.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Training in fire and medical response
- Responding to emergency incidents
- Assisting with public safety education project
To be considered for the next Volunteer Recruit Academy applicants must complete and return either the PDF or Word Volunteer Firefighter application PDF / Word to CCF&R headquarters located at 911 North 65th Avenue in Ridgefield. Applications may also be obtained by calling 360-887-4609.
In addition to the application, candidates must pass a physical ability test and an oral interview; those who are selected for the spring academy will be given a physical exam, background check, and drug screen prior to becoming a volunteer.
Applicants with current firefighting experience may be considered as lateral volunteers, at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinator, and may not need to participate in the Recruit Academy. The physical ability test, physical exam, background check, and drug screen will still be required of lateral volunteers.
