Clark County Fire & Rescue Commissioner William "Bill" Hargett passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009, at his home in Ridgefield, WA.

Bill devoted his life to the fire service. He began his career as a fire fighter in Glendale, CA and then joined the L.A. City Fire Department where he worked as an Inspector and Captain. He moved to Washington and accepted a position as a Deputy Fire Marshall and most recently served as Fire Commissioner for Clark County.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rita; his four children; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
