Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue (CCFR) is proud to serve the communities of north Clark County and south Cowlitz County in Southwest Washington. Our district spans more than 125 square miles, including the cities of La Center, Ridgefield, and Woodland, along with the Cowlitz Indian Reservation. Together, we provide fire and emergency medical services to about 52,000 people who call this area home.

With over 100 dedicated members (career firefighters, CARES, support volunteers and staff) CCFR delivers a full range of services to our community. Every member is highly trained and committed to protecting lives and property. We also welcome future first responders through our county‑wide high school fire cadet program.

Beyond traditional fire and paramedic level EMS response, CCFR provides critical care ambulance transport service for the highest priority medical calls. We are also proud to offer a CARES (Community Assistance, Referrals, and Education Services) program. This team works directly with residents to connect them with health and social services, reduce repeat 911 calls, and provide outreach for those with ongoing medical and social needs.

Each year, CCFR responds to nearly 5,300 emergencies—fires, medical calls, rescues, and more. The district is guided by a five‑member elected board of Fire Commissioners, ensuring that community priorities remain at the heart of everything we do.
