Clark‑Cowlitz Fire Rescue (CCFR) is proud to provide advanced life support (ALS) ambulance transport for the most serious medical emergencies in our community. When someone calls 911, medical incidents in Clark County are assigned a priority level from 1 through 5, with Level 1 being the most urgent. CCFR ambulances are the primary units dispatched to Priority 1 and Priority 2 calls—the highest‑priority emergencies requiring rapid response and advanced medical care.

For lower‑priority medical calls (Levels 3 through 5), American Medical Response (AMR), under contract with Clark County EMS District 2, provides both advanced life support and basic life support transport. CCFR and AMR work closely together, backing each other up whenever ambulances are already in service, to ensure that patients receive timely care no matter the situation.

Regardless of which ambulance transports you, CCFR and AMR share the same transport rates—so the cost to patients and families is the same. What matters most is getting the right level of care, as quickly as possible.
